    Description

    Found at a local estate and up for sale this great fixed blade hunting knife complete with its original sheath.  This early Remington model RH 29 has  Made in the USA   UMC    5 1/4 " embossed into the carbon steel blade on one side and Remington on the other.  The The knife measures 8 1/2 inches in length from tip to pummel.    The hand guard is made of brass and the handle is of a hard rubber embossed with the famous Remington UMC logo on both sides... The pummel is aluminum.  The knife and the handle are tight.            The sheath is original to the knife with a UMC Remington logo stamped near the top of the sheath, but alas, it is hard to make out... age related changes to the hand worked leather...  The brass T-snap on button has Remington UMC on it.  Condition:  This beautifully handcrafted fixed knife has much history.. it belonged to a Military man and hunter and was his companion on many sorties... it is in as found condition, though I have removed a little of the verdigris built up round the brass blade guard and the snaps. There is a tear in the leather in the (L) strap section...all riveting round the sheath is intact..      Please check out my photos and email me if you have any questions.          Thanks.
