Description
16 GPM Log Splitter PumpThis brand new 16 GPM, 2-stage hydraulic log splitter gear pump is a must have for any wood splitter application.
A gear pump allows for high flow at low pressures, to increase cycle time speed, and high pressure when enough back pressure resistance occurs, like when splitting a log.
This pump is not designed for use with “universal” or "tractor" transmission oil, such as "303". Use of incorrect fluid may damage the pump and void the warranty.
We recommend using an Lovejoy-style jaw coupling (i.e., L095, which is the most common Lovejoy family used on log splitters) and mounting bracket to connect the pump to an engine. Couplings and mounting brackets are available.

Suction-side filtration should be no finer than 150 micron. Use of a 10-25 micron filter on the suction side of the pump is too restrictive and will cause failure.
Make sure hydraulic fluid reservoir is not below pump to ensure a sufficient flow of oil to the pump.
