Description

This is an original 1890 edition of The Railway Purchasing Agents Master Mechanics and Master Car Builders Directory published by The Purchasing Agents Directory Company of Chicago.  This book is 238 pages plus a 12 page index at the front and several additional pages of advertising at the front and back of the directory plus some extra advertising pages tipped in throughout the text.   This book measures about 8.75” x 6” and is in the original stiff leather covers.   The title page describes this book as containing:
“A Classified List of the Leading Railway Supply Houses Throughout the United States, Also A Complete List of the Railroads of the United States and Canada in Alphabetical Order, Giving The Names Of Their Purchasing Agents, Master Mechanics and Master Car Builders...”
The contents of this book are fully complete. The leather material that covered the spine is gone but the stitched binding is still intact.  There are a few chips and nicks on the edges of the covers and some loss to the leather cover material around the edges.  The inside pages are in good shape with just some toning to the paper from age and light wear and minor scattered soiling places.   If you wanted to get this book rebacked so that the spine cover material is replaced I could direct you a book binder that could provide that service.  Email any questions.   Thanks for looking.
